Through teaching, I have met many lovely collage enthusiasts in Vermont. It's been an exciting experience to teach art once again, and I enjoy staying in touch with former students. To stay connected we created TLDF Collage Club on Facebook. It’s a place for inspiration and fun. Artists from all over the world are welcome. We display work and learn from each other. Join the group for some show and tell!

Since the pandemic made in person classes impossible, I have transitioned to online teaching. So far, it has been wonderful, with everyone putting their best foot forward. Classes happen once a month and are a blend of literature, artistic technique and good fun. Every class emphasizes a new skill and the themes are as varied as the resulting artwork. I have coined the term "zoomies" to refer to these online classes.

Check out the schedule and pick your favorite class! All skill levels are welcome! And if you missed a class because the timing was not working out for you, now you can get the class package and complete the exercises at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home. Despite social distancing, the need to connect remains strong. Let's take good care of ourselves by investing in good mental health. You can't take care of your loved ones unless you are present and healthy. Take a bit of time for yourself and expand your creativity. It will have a positive impact in every area of your life.

Day of the Dead: Creating a nicho for your home altar - Oct. 17, 2020, 3 pm Eastern Time
Click Here to Register on Facebook

Our next online Zoomie is an exploration of Dia de los Muertos. Join a diverse community of people around the world who mark this time of the year with a colorful display of traditional arts and crafts. Learn how to honor your family members by creating a “nicho” that will be part of a beautiful “ofrenda” at your own home. Setting the ofrenda, is an activity for the whole family that will bring young and old together in this time of remembrance.

Nichos commemorate the life of a family member. These 3D boxes are intricately decorated with small replicas of objects beloved by the deceased. They are very ornate, very personal and shimmering with bright colors. Everything is allowed: political themes relevant to the deceased, favorite foods, his or her preferred entertainment, images of saints, even depictions of common everyday life scenes.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Alice is All of Us - Sept. 13, 2020, 3 pm Eastern Time
Click Here to Register on Facebook

I am teaching an online class titled “Down the Rabbit Hole: Alice is all of us” and I’d love to invite you to take part in it.

Those who know me are aware of my fondness for books and nature. In particular, I love children’s literature. In this class, I focus my attention on the fabulous Alice in Wonderland at a specific point in its narrative. We find Alice drawn away from her garden by the white rabbit, and soon she finds herself free falling through the burrow under the large tree. What awaits her at the end of it? Who will she find down at the bottom?

In this online class, the format makes feedback instantaneous. You practice self-assessment and critical thinking, while you create artwork that’s personal and unique to you. We foster collaboration and inspire each other in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Intro to Collage II: Follow the Yellow Brick Road - July 18, 2020

I was floored by the level of interest generated by our June Intro to Collage class. The feedback was brilliant, and I feel so proud of everyone who participated and made it a success. I’m very grateful.

In a bit of a twist, I am suggesting a theme for our session. The classic movie “The Wizard of Oz” has so many parallels to the situation we find ourselves in, that I thought it would be a perfect starting point for a collage. I’m sure there will be as many interpretations as students in the class. Can’t wait to see the results!

Don’t forget about our raffle! My collage will be raffled among the participants at the end of the class. You could walk away with an original collage valued at $195 just for being a good sport and taking part in the class. Good luck!

Purr-fect Portraits: A Paper Menagerie - June 20, 2020

This workshop is a celebration of pets everywhere! Cats, dogs, birds and everything in between! They love us unconditionally and help us connect with the best parts of ourselves. They keep us company and feel our pain. They help us remain active and enjoy the outdoors.

The love for a pet runs deep and lasts a lifetime. Create a custom portrait of your furry best friend that you will cherish forever. Mixed media portraits that reflect your pet’s personality can easily become an heirloom that will remain in the family for years to come.

2020 Workshops @ The Little Dream Factory - Register on Facebook

Reserve a spot for whichever date and theme suit your taste. Or challenge yourself with a brand-new technique or activity. It’s important to point out that my studio can only accommodate five students at a time, although in hot weather we can (and should) spill into the beautiful surrounding garden. In any case, you get my undivided and personalized attention. That and a few cheesy jokes…

All scheduled workshops will take place on Sundays, from 1-3 pm. There’s a flat rate of $10 per workshop in order to replenish the shared pool of supplies. Everything is provided and you need only bring your sunny self. You can make an unlimited number of pieces during the workshops.

December 7th, 2019. 1 to 3pm - Winter Workshop

Winter will soon pounce without notice and we’ll all be busy, busy, busy (and cold).

Why not carve a tiny slice of self-care time and knock a few things off your shopping list all at once?

We will be making cards, wreaths, ornaments and all manner of paper crafts to use as handmade gifts.

Sip a bit of hot cocoa, have a cookie and share a few moments of peace and community.

Only five spots available. (my studio is small, but cozy)

All materials are provided.

Workshop is free, but donations for supplies are welcome. Thank you!

Come ready to play!
